Snapshots: My Mind's Keeper
Prologue
Time does not stop for anyone.
Previously, I thought I understood the meaning of that expression, considering my age and my knowledge. However, now I know that I, in no way, knew anything, at that point.
Once I did not appreciate time, because what was the meaning of a hour, a day, a year, when you had all the time in the world in your grasp? I often didn’t care how fast the hour needle moved, in fact the number of times it moved wasn’t counted, only when I hoped it shifted several times faster, only because I felt bored. Boredom often alighted when you could live forever.
However now, with all my heart I hoped that time had mercy for me, to stop and rotate backwards. Back again, to that moment. So that I had time to fix the biggest mistake of my saddened existence. I was prepared to hand over anything I owned, to do anything in my power, only so that one painful moment was not written in the story of my life.
Unfortunately, time had not stopped, for anyone.
Including for me.
Especially for me.
